Episode 01 - Everything Changes
When Torchwood arrives on the scene of a brutal murder, WPC Gwen Cooper's burning curiosity is challenged. Their attitude, their approach and their technology is at odds with everything she believes in. But investigating the investigators leads her into a dark, paranoid world she never imagined existed.
01. The Murder Scene - 00.34
The first recognisable location of episode 1 is the lane between the Cineworld Cinema, Mary Ann Street and the NCP Car Park on Tredegar Street. Gwen runs upto a mid level floor of the car park for her first view of Torchwood in action.
02. The Pub brawl - 08.29
The Cornwall is where the pub brawl takes place and Gwen bangs her head. Gwen and P.C. Andy park in Dorset Street and cross Cornwall Street where they enter the white buiding of The Cornwall pub
03. The Pizza Place - 17.24
Indian Takeaway 'Mumbai Bay' is the home of the Pizza Shop that leads Gwen to Torchwood. Mumbai Bay can be found not too far from the Wales Millennium Centre. If you look the opposite direction from the entrance to the Wales Millennium Centre and walk along the road you will come across it just after the bank on the left hand side.
04. The Bar - 28.32
'Buffalo Bar' is where the scene where Jack and Gwen go for a drink after leaving 'The Hub'. 'Buffalo Bar' is located on Windsor Place, off the main pedestrianised shopping area, Queen Street. If you walk up Queen Street just past the entrance to the Capital Centre you will see Barclays Bank on the left, walk up that street and you will see 'Buffalo Bar' on the left hand side.
05. Keeping Watch- 37.39
There's a fantastic sweeping aerial shot of Captain Jack as he stands on top of a building, keeping watch over Cardiff. The building he is standing on is the exclusive apartment complex, Altolusso. You can see this location pretty much from all over the centre of Cardiff and can be found not too far from the Murder Scene Location. If you are looking at the entrance to Cineworld on Mary Ann Street, look left and you should see the commanding presence of Altolusso.
06. Car Park - 40.35
The Car Park seen towards the end of the episode is the NCP Car Park on David Street. It can be found opposite the Murder Scene Location above.
